My Say:
The book is actually in my favourite list. I like it a lot. It's totally different and even if it has a little similarity with some other books, I still thinks the book tells magic interestingly. I never read anything about goddess before, well, I think so. What made it even more interesting is they can appear like any other cute animals, like cats and dogs! There's also something reincarnation that I found so cool about it which made me so happy about it. That being said, the plot is intriguing and very well-developed. I like all the characters especially Ellena and Hector. There was very few since I read a hero character named Hector, but it's cool. I enjoyed the time I read this. However, there are a few times I felt lost and to repeat reading the whole pages. I felt like I left out an important part, but I dont know what it is. However, I can forgive it because I like the story. Please give a chance reading this book and I think you too will feel the same.

My Say:
The book is the sequel in The Grimoire Chronicles, Veil Between Worlds. Even though I have not read the first book, I think we can catch up without knowing much details in the first book. I think the story was ok. I was not really excited reading it because I dont really into the characters. I think the chemistry between the two character of love interest is not really there. I would say Trenton is trying too much to be cool. Hey, maybe it's just me. But I must admit, the story has good plot line.Minus the dialogues. I feel awkward about those quite immature dialogues. Also, maybe it does not have a complementary between the plot line and the characters that made me less drawn to. The magic and fantasy the author created was quite realistic and me me wondering al the time. Of course, there's twist and turn that spice things up, which is a good thing and made the book better. But I still recommend readers to try. Maybe you will have different opinions about it.

My Say:
I actually want to give it 1 star. because I hate a cliffhanger when the book if so good that you might melt all the way to the finishing line. Then I know it would not be good because 1 star means no one ever pick the book later and I dont want that. Go Cameo! The book is so so so cool! The best part I think it would be the fast pace of the story. I dont even realize I can finish the book in one sitting, couple hours. However, the whole situation of the book only took a few days, and quite awkward a little bit, but I will look at it in a positive way when most people would say, lives can change in blink, right? Also,when there's boys  fighting over a girl, I usually find it irritating, but somehow Emma is not all over the boys (and yes, the boys are CUTE!) which made her looks so cool. She's independent, can I say she was like tough like Katniss Everdeen? Ops, sorry THG fans! Yeah, she is a great heroine character, as well as other characters. The progress of the book and the characters are well developed. I totally hope that the sequel of the series will be as good as the 1st book or better. The book is totally a book you cant miss to read. Pick this now and ensure you will not frustrated.

“We’re going to miss you too! What are we going to do without you our last, crucial year? We’re finally going to be seniors,” Lia said, her eyes tearing as soon as she saw mine.  

Jeremy looked at me, and a single tear grazed his cheek. He quickly turned away and lifted his glasses, quickly wiping his face with his shirt. That was the first time I’d ever seen Jeremy get emotional.“You guys will be fine. And it won’t be forever. I promise to email and send pictures.”

My Say:

The book is full of imaginations. Maybe a little like Alice in Wonderland with a Fringe-ish kind of Twist. However, the book has the horror that I feel like it is well complimented the adventurous storyline. Apart of the adventure, the story started with mysteries. I know it sounds as if the book is complicated read, but trust me, the author did it well to make simple with words and full of emotions. Sophina, losing her father and a missing brother are very tough for a 14-year old girl to accept and face it alone. Of course, with no one to be with her, looking for her brother is the best way to avoid her from being lonely forever. And now I know why the author love Sophina the most (please read the interview below!). As I love Harry Potter and The Lords of the Ring, I love the magical things the author included in the book. Simple words to describe things in sentences made my imaginations easy. Even with simple words, not too much unneeded details, the characters in the books are actually quite well-developed. It has a progress which increased, at the right pace towards the ending. Until I reached the last page, I never thought the story is already ended. For a debut novel, I think T.S. Graham made his bid well.

Interview with the Author

What inspired you to write the book?

My family, without question. Having read countless bedtime stories to my five daughters, I decided it was time to spin them a tale from my own heart and mind.

Who is your favorite character in the book and why should we love him/her too?

For me it’s Sophina, because she is a combination of all five of my daughters. She is brave, loyal, stubborn, and there is no one else like her in this world or any other. When times get desperate, her mind gets sharper. I think that’s what most people look for in a hero.

Tell us why people should read your book?

If you’re looking for a fresh take on the YA fantasy genre, free of vampires, witches, werewolves, magic, and talking animals, then “The Chronicles of Trellah” may be just what the doctor ordered. If you’re obsessed with the status quo, then my book may be out of your comfort zone.

What books have most influenced your life?

For me it’s always been about Stephen King. He has the talent and education to write Pulitzer Prize winning works, but he chooses to thrill and entertain instead. He taught me to write for myself and my audience (in this case YA), and not to worry about what those who prefer works outside my genre think. A writer’s genre can change with each new book, but they always need to put their intended audience ahead of the big-time critic who might scoff at their creation.

What is the most recent book you read?

I have two girls under the age of 6, so it’s all about picture books at my house. The stories we revisit the most are “Where the Wild Things Are,” “The Napping House,” and anything by Dr. Seuss. I would love to write a children’s book someday. In many ways, I think it would be harder than writing a novel.

If you are not a writer, who would you be?

A scientist. It would be my job to find a safe, natural cure for folks who suffer from irrational stress. Seriously…. No matter how many times you ask certain people to take a deep breath and chill, it never seems to work. My wife and children are not included in this equation. They’re always chill. ;p

Any advice for young authors?

Always write for yourself first, your audience second, and… well, there is no third. That’s it.

About the Author 

T.S. Graham was born and raised in midcoast Maine. He has worked as a sea urchin diver, fish monger, home renovator, and in several group homes for children and adults with disabilities. His original screenplay, Stone's Point, written as Clint Elliott, has won multiple awards. He studied English Literature at the University of Southern Maine, where, despite developing a strong dislike of the traditional curriculum focused on old, dead (and boring) scribes, he somehow managed to graduate with honors. His greatest influences are writers like Stephen King and Michael Crichton, whose talents would have allowed them to write more literary fare, but they chose to thrill and entertain instead. He now lives on a horse farm with his beautiful wife and five daughters, two poodles, two cats, two happy turtles, four playful ferrets, three fish, a corn snake named "Tiger," dozens of chickens, and, of course, four awesome equines. My Say:
When I first read the synopsis, I was like amazed, when it is a story about someone that is already dead. As I read the story, the plot is quite intense and very thrilling despite of having more than 500 pages. While I feel the book is quite fun, sometimes I feel quite dragged with the plot. And there's also part when I think the story should be telling more of Hyalee's past. But that is what I think personally. Even though I felt that way, honestly, the book have some interesting perks as there are twist and turns that spice up the adventure. One more thing for sure, I could not resist myself of comparing it with The Hunger Games, only that this book has male protagonist character, and it's better that way. It's not that I want to label which is the best, but in few ways, similarities doesn't really brings  I just hope the second book will be more intense and full of chilling thrillers.

About the Authors 
Folami and Abeni Morris are a sister-sister writing team. Together they wrote (and rewrote) The Exemeus series, somehow managing to accomplish it without murdering one another. Despite their tendency to finish each others thoughts and stick up for each other constantly, no, they’re not twins and thus deserve their own individual bio.

Folami Morris 
Folami grew up in the tiny city of San Mateo Ca, where nothing ever happens and no one ever leaves. She went to Xavier University for undergraduate, getting her B.A in physics and her B.S in Biology. After graduation she returned to California, to live in an even smaller city, where even less happens, Antioch Ca. During this time she escaped the monotony by hanging out with her imaginary friends Hyalee and Dephon, and by writing the Exemeus. She finally escaped to Queens NY and now realizes that quiet and tiny aren’t so bad.

Abeni Morris 
As luck (and logic) would have it, Abeni grew up in the same tiny little town as her sister, then she too escaped to the tinier town of Antioch. She has yet to leave. She received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood development from Cal State East Bay. A chance encounter with Jiline, who he believes is Madelen, on the trail sparks a magical connection between the two. Knowing he can’t feel a magical draw to someone who has no magic, he tries to prove Madelen (Jiline) has magic within her. His attention brings unforeseen complications for both of them .

My Review:

I hope the book will have a sequel. I don't know if the author is planning to have one soon, but I do hope so. The truth is, it's been so long since I've read about unicorns! That maybe the only reason why I'm dying to read this, despite of whatever the outcome. But hey, the book turned out great! It's totally genius! The read was quick like you reading in a glance, but I think she did great plotting the story because even though the book is quite short, it was condense and nothing would be an excuse to hate the book.

Jiline is very cute and I love the love sparkling between Jiline and Herrick. It's like there's nothing impossible even if you are powerless, when you love someone, the power will come to you. And that is what I felt when I was reading the book. You could feel hope, love, magical powers, and endless effort to thrive for the best. And I love misunderstanding, only when it turns out beautiful.

It was a quick read and it worth killing time, with having magical feelings, magical creatures, and I promise you that you will want to be a unicorn keeper yourself. Read it and feel magical.

My Two Cents:

The book is totally adorable. I mean, what will happen if someone from 13th century travelled to your doorstep with a little magic come in handy? Well, I think I want one! With interesting plot like this, I grew wondering what's the story behind it and keep on reading to the last page. It started with a little introduction of how Leo and Leona met Edmund one day and the adventure begun. Although Edmund has magic, he can't use it on his will unless to help others. Leo always made Edmund use magic behind her mother's back (Leona) while she solves everything manually like any other normal human does. The children's characters are very enjoyable and really stand out. Leo, Raccoon and Squirrel (yes I know it's quite weird for names), are very adorable kids and sometime they are witty and funny too. They were like a trio that tried to save the town, as to help Edmund uses his magic to let Leona wins the election to be the mayor of the town. The book is very suitable to kids, and readers of all ages. The kids will able to learn some good like friendship, teamwork, confident, learning history of another century, as well as doing good deeds to others. Even though some where in the middle will has a slow pace, the book is worth reading and you'll find it enjoyable too. This is a wonderful book that I fully recommend for kids and teens.

My Two Cents:

A cool book for a younger reader as the story is about a young witch, Sadie. What I loved about the story is it's sweet, very entertaining with all the adventure of Sadie to find herself and learned how to adapt with her new life as a witch.

All the characters in the story are great since they're magical creatures involved, other witches, talking cat which made the story more fascinating. The story has a fast pace from the start, and quite captivating toward the ending. I love the author creating a great setting for a modern fantasy story of a young witch. Other than that, what I loved most is there's a lot of good sides of something good to learn for teens as it's a mixed of how to blend in, fitting in, confident in who you are, and accept ourselves as who we really are. Sadie's lost of her mother and being undergoing foster care system, being teased was not a great experienced, but when she found out her life has some great purpose, her confidence grew.

The writing is easy to understand, so I think younger tween would love to read this. There's some cool illustration in the book, which is very good to imagine what's Sadie's experiencing. Sadie's character is easy to connect to, and I think she is quite fun. Although this is only a story of a girl in a transition to be a witch, I think it has in-depth storyline and very entertaining. Young adult of fantasy readers would enjoy to read this.

About the Author

Annastaysia Savage is both a writer and artist. She earned her BFA in Fine Art, with honors, from Arizona State University. She is one residency shy of a MA in creative writing from Wilkes University and is currently pursuing an MFA in sculpture and jewelry design from The Academy of Art University. Both writing and art have always been in her life, beginning at age 5 with her fist publication of a short poem and her first art exhibition entry that took first place. She has several short stories published in the last few years, her most recent a flash fiction horror piece for children and young adults in Crow’s Nest Magazine called “Grimalkins” and a short story in the anthology: JournalStone’s 2010 Warped Words for Twisted Minds.

Summary:

Thinksandthings can hear people's thoughts and turn them into things. However, the world just isn't ready for a farm of Grandma clones or to be introduced to the Durtle (half dog, half turtle creature). The Fixer repairs the damage some of the thinks have caused. However, when the Witch from the Hansel and Gretel fable escapes to Suburbia, a carousel lion comes to life and terrorizes small towns, and the Big Dipper starts to disappear from the sky, the Fixer has to work faster and harder before these things unfold irreversibly, all while tracking down Thinksandthings.

My Two Cents:

This is actually a very interesting and very creative collection of short stories. A fantasy world that exist or maybe similar like our real world like a fairy tales we heard when we were little, only it is dark, but yet very whimsical. Thinksandthings wander the earth, listen to people's thoughts and turn them into real things. Like Dandelion, it's a pretty flower and it's not a dandy-lions! Because it sometimes tend to turn something wrong, the Fixer will go around and fix things that Thinksandthings created.

I personally think that children has the biggest contributions in the novella since most of them were from children thoughts. I still remember when I was a kid, I think I can talk to alien but no one trust me including my parent, because of course, that's not true. Must be that I had a very great imagination and I think most kids do. It's the same thing that happen in the book. When a kid thinks it's real when it's not, Thinksandthings make it real and it always go wrong that Fixer need to stick around and fix it. It's very intriguing whenever I read how Fixer will fix it and it's kind of dark, but funny in a way. I still think the book is a gem. Only for cautions, it's for older kids, and make sure it is because you don't want to spoil kid's great imagination into something scary!

My Thought:

The truth is, I only read the first book, in Mortal Instruments series, City of Bones. I would probably finish the series regardless of reading the prequels. So, I just start reading the prequels after so much hype about it. It's not deniable that I like the story and it has great setting, which I love England so much. However, I couldn't help to think that the story started with quite similarity with City of Bones. If you read the book and compared with this one, you will know about it. It's the biggest flaw for me when I think that it kind of lost it's originality of the plot. I know it's a prequel but I wish that the plot would at least different and at the same time keeping the familiar elements of the Mortal Instruments.

It maybe started with a flaw indeed, but it changes gradually with better characters with better personalities. The fact that Tessa is not a shadowhunter, but a unique individual really peak my interest and it's very intriguing. Tessa is a lot more confident, brave, loving and sweet. Her ability is quite a mystery and but it become the main elements in the story which I think it's really brilliant. So it has an originality there. As usual, we are readers are torn between two hot guys; Will and Jem. But of course this two boys' relation is brother-like and kind of cute. Will is quite a mysterious and he is very unpredictable. His actions questionable but he loves quotes from famous literary books, take care of Jem, and sometimes act like a jerk. Jem on the other hand has a soft side of him. He tends to comfort Tessa when Tesaa in doubts with Will actions and being really nice to her.

But again, other 'supporting' characters from the book very much alike with City of Bones' characters. I couldn't help of keep comparing the similarity. All in all, I like the book, it presents something great and makes readers hunger for more, and the cliff hanger even made me to has long sigh. It's mysterious, exciting, action-packed and so like "Mortal Instruments". Cassandra Clare fans would have great satisfaction reading this.

My Say:

I always loved reading about vampire since I was a kid and werewolf is not an exception. The story was greatly told even though it started with a mystery. I was quite patient to read all details of the mystery before the truth finally came out, maybe because I really want to know the story after for so long reading other reviews. Not until in the middle of the story, the truth is finally discovered. The plot is good and I get the whole picture of the story right from the start and it amazed me of how well it is developed. Daniel character as well as Grace are great and I think they have a very good chemistry of how well their relation blends in every situation involving the two of them. It seems so real. Other character plays their very good even though sometimes I could detect some gradual changes in one or two characters like Grace's brother and her best friend. Just for the record, April is such not a very good best friend. She supposed to be more tolerable between Grace and her brother, and maybe be a little fair instead of leaving Grace facing her problem alone. However, the element of surprise when I found out who's the real culprit in the story, is really unbelievable yet very intelligent. I almost didn't see it coming! But there's a bit disappointment when Daniel finally get cured and Grace bears the cursed. Hope it will change in the sequel but if it's not, it still doesn't hurt because I will love it nonetheless.

I can't wait to read the sequel; The Lost Saint very very very soon!

My Review:

Praise to Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl! I just couldn’t say how I love the book so much! I think there’s no exact word how to describe the flavors richness about the book. It’s like all sorts of flavors grind and mix together giving a most incredible result!And one of the best thing, this book is Ethan's perspective, like he is the narrator of the book. So, this time, it's not all about a guy.

Well, to think of it, honestly, I could not or actually find anything wrong or flaw with the story. I was deeply moved, absorbed and tantalized of how it gotten all over me. Yes, it is. I love of how it was written, the sentences keep me read it smoothly and I just couldn’t get myself to hold on for a second to stop.

At first, Ethan just likes any other normal boy. He hates the life he has and always wants to seek his freedom one day, or soon. Until the day that he never sees it’s coming to him. Until she’s coming. Ethan’s character is very strong and of course, Lena’s too. In fact, all the characters have been very strong and complete each role they are supposed to fill in. Ethan and Lena’s life seem to be intertwined for as long as the cursed has been casted 100 of years ago. They are meant to meet, to complete each other but that does not means they can be together. It’s typical like any other love stories.

However, I promise you the book serve us a lot more of twists, histories, flashbacks, magic, incantations, spells, songs, friendships, families and love. Everything about the book is perfect and I just love it the way it is. The idea of they could communicate through mind is rock and romantic. Their love is so divine and I must say quite naïve but sweet. Sweet, sweet, sweet. I love the little conversations they have in mind, how they support each other, how they never say love over and over again, how they just understand without saying things or feelings out loud. OK, let’s just say the book really takes my breath away. They are just so sweet. It makes me feel whatever they feel, the sweet love they have.

The complications or the obstacles they’re facing are so believable. Nothing seems to be like a just made up facts, histories, or even the flashbacks. And the end is good. I mean really good. I know there will be a sequel for the book, but it ends beautifully even though there’s not exactly a happy ending being told. The mystery is still there but it ends perfectly for a series.
I would recommend you over and over again that the book is worth reading. If you think Twilight is a must read, then Beautiful Creatures is a compulsory. You have too. You will never like Twilight like you love Beautiful Creatures. One thing for sure, Beautiful Creatures just grow all over me now.

But I personally miss everyone so much, and I am so sorry for not replying comments and make any visit to your blogs. I will redeem myself later. *LOL* I was so super busy and April is such a chaos and hectic month for me. I was so caught up with schools, seminars, presentations and anything in between that prevent me to write something on my blog. I definitely cannot resist it. And having 1 and a half month preparation to submit my master thesis is not going to help me. Wish me luck because I am going to really need it =(

My Thought:

Honestly, I'm quite disappointed with the second sequel of The Immortals. I didn't necessarily hate this book. That being said, I only had a lot of issues with it.

I liked the 1st book Evermore because I thought the author manage to introduce new ideas and concepts like, auras, "elixir” of life, chakras and so on. That's maybe the reason why I decided and can’t wait to read the second one Blue Moon.

However, I was totally DISAPPOINTED...I read so much of good reviews on the second book, on how the excellent idea and twist and everything going to woo me much more than Evermore. This book started with promise, yes. Right until Roman starts to reveal his evil self and turns everyone against Ever at high school. Roman is an obvious jerk and protagonist character, of which the author isn't very subtle about. I find the fact Ever only seems to notice that he is from England a while after knowing him, quite confusing. I always hate that he is portrayed in a rather simple, stereotyped manner. I hate how he often says "mate" and "bugger off", they are apparently the only words of English slang that he knows of. Like the first book, the author like to focus on the “pressing” his/her lip. Urghh. And hey, I already knew Damon is super cute, super hot and super gorgeous. You don’t have to tell the readers about the ‘fun-facts’ in every chapter about that OK.

I found the book getting worse and worse as it drew towards the end, what with Ever taking a trip to Summerland with Eva to try and find an antidote for Damen. The book there on just drags and seems like to make things up in an unconditionally crappy way. Like the author has to end the story exactly on page 284. There’s an excellent plot there, but the elaboration and how she write on everything is just in obvious cliff hanging facts. Finally the ending is totally like a super rush. On that exact moment suddenly Ever made the stupidest mistake. How easily she’d been tricked to Ramon to save Damen.

Last but not least, I'm so don't understand how could blending saliva of two person while kissing, not forget to mention if touching could change human DNA. Of course we can be imaginative but please, this reason is absolutely crap. How could that possibly be? OK, if it a yes, why wouldn't the author at least explain it more on that particular fact? Make it believable or at least do some research on that. Science is not just facts. It can be subjective too, with some logic mix and match. And if the author really want to project some new idea to prevent both of Damen and Ever could never be together because of the obstacle, then this idea is absolutely the worst. I bet if Damen and Ever could not have child because Damen's blood already has the same sequence like Ever because the antidote mixed with Ever's blood, then maybe that sounds really real to me. I'm not against the idea and it's not like I cannot be an imaginative person. I can. But I also like to think while I read. That is how I understand and imagine things written on a plain white sheet. Well, each person is different in her/his own way though, right?

Oh yes, I did found one good thing about the book. I'm so glad I read it that I have so many things to comment and to questions why and how this and that. At least I'm improving my imaginative ability. *LOL*

Enough said, I don't know if I really want to recommend to anyone to read this book. But if you don't mind the fact she made up, then this will might interest you. Not to forget, it's fast read and could be enjoyable too. Not to me, obviously. A worth read to kill some time.

Nonetheless, I think I will read Shadowland not very soon. Wait and see what my opinion will be. =) God, hope it will be better, please.

My Thoughts:

I enjoyed the book. Full stop. I read it in 4 hours and utterly it was a page turner. I kept reading because; (a) i wanted to know why they are not vampires but just 'immortals', (b) why does Damen is so freaking gorgeous but at the same time significantly weird, (c) why does Noel keep mentioning the the word 'pressing his lip on mine' like zillions time? <--okay, leave this one out of the list. I’m not surprised and expected much from the book since I've read a few paranormal/ vampire books these few weeks. My expectations are not much but honestly most of them were met. Ever has a solid character. Her loss, guilt, and loneliness made her struggle to stand on her own. And being psychic is a big thing when the whole world is a stranger to her. Two friends of her, Miles and Haven, have their unique personality which is a big applause to Noel because the characters are quite strong. In my point of view, at least. While Damen, he is hot, beautifull, gorgeous, yes... but what is exactly his story? It's just sometime you see him, sometime you don't. I know he is the mystery guy. I’m hoping to learn more about him in the rest of the series. He hasn’t really impressed me much yet, but that may change. However, overall, I liked the story itself, the plot was engaging, I really had no idea what was going on. That's why I keep reading till the last page. My curiosity which previously listed above, are revealed piece by piece which was a welcoming change of pace. The writing is OK. Because I don't like the repetitive word of 'pressing' when they kissed. (I'm sorry!). BUT, impressive imagery! I can see what she's trying to portray. What can I say? I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. In fact, I recommend this book to all young adults' fan. and whoever love teen's love story =) ** I read a review of Evermore by Melody @ Melody's Corner. She posted an interview with Alyson Noel and I know something interesting about why they are immortals instead of vampires. What can I say, Noel has an original idea on Evermore. =)

What i think about the book:

ehmmm..(clear my throat..), i think the book is a good..but i dont really expect much as i read quarter of it..because right ahead, i know the movie is a lot better than the book..maybe because i already watched the movie, then i'll sum up with this kind of confessions on the book.. naturally, the book is readable and i like how the story goes..simple, but also a bit captivate..i love fantasy plus a little romance in it..magic is sometime cool, but will cost you a lot if you don't aware of it's danger..sally and gillian knew that their life will never escape from the witchery lineage that they have since 200 years ago from maria owens, but they also longed for a normal life like others in non-magic way which people will accept you as who you are..sally is kind of timid, and gillian is very messed up, pretty but really messed up..like all problems revolved around her..and sally is like her life saver..

hoffman thought of some cool love and magic conflict here..she made the love as the trigger of the owens's curse (one who marries owens will die when the time comes--this is very tragic idea), however, love also the obvious thing that conquers all in the end and in fact, break the curse..the only flaw i can find in this book is that, there were so much information/description's overlapping..the redundant of info's made me sometime confused, e.g; hoffman was telling what sally was thinking about gillian's problems and at the same time hoffman also described whatever gillian was thinking of jimmy angelov in sally's thinking.. and there's so much parts like that..

my thought on practical magic movie:

practical magic is kind of my favourite movie..i can watch it all over without bored..sally (sandra bullock) and gillian (nicole kidman) were awesome..later, after i knew that the movie was based on alice hoffman bestseller book, i hoped/wished that someday i can read the book..now i already read the book, my curiosity of how the book might be is answered..it's only that, what they showed in the movie was only half of the book, and another half was made up..but whenever i watch it, i think it just goes with the flow and sometimes, made it even better than the book..like everything was made sense..and now i think both of the movie and the book are just that good.. =p

My thought on book the and the movie:

i love both of the book and the movie..actually, i watched the movie first then i read the book..The movie was very entertaining and i kind of got my mood to read the book afterward..I like the Narnia Chronicles very very much.. in fact, i made a lot of searches to buy the books back then.. well, you know, it's way too difficult when you are in a country side and take a few hours to go to the city just to find books..only that two years back, i knew how to buy books from online..ha! kind of funny really..reading the second book of the chronicles, i also has the same feeling like the 1st one..since i like fantasy read, it's easier to imagine or fantasizing their adventurous journey to safe Narnia..what i like most of all is of course Mr. Tumnus the faun (he's so cute..) and Aslan the Lion (i like Liam Neeson voice cast for him by the way =p)..wait, i think i love all the talking animals, and the children except the White Witch (i like the costumes though..)

what can i say more when the book and the movie are really fascinating..?

first of all, i love this book..!

My summary:

the story is about what happened when a boy meet a girl.. digory, and polly..a boy who really like to take risks and polly who was quite an adventurous, but very limited, which means; a girl i s always a cautious being, right? they became very good friends, and like fooling around, pretending that every single thing happened or they found, was actually related to something magical or mystery..and until one day the end up which started the biggest step of human invading to other world (yeah, that's human obviously..)..digory had an uncle, the magician...he sent polly away with a magic ring (with a trick!) and force digory to fetch polly..unwilling, but polly is his good friend, he determined to go to Charn, woke up Jadis, and the conflict began..and Jadis became the enemy of Narnia when it was found like in less than 7hours..

My review:

well, i like it very much as i think mr. lewis is a great story teller..when i read the story, it is like he is telling me what is actually happened there.. he did an excellent job with developing the characters, which made them really interesting and alive..they're written so well, that i was absorbed into the book.. (well, there's magic everywhere!). Aslan was, a great and wiser person (as if he is person no matter whatever, how big or small he/she is...right?). it is here that Digory and Polly meet Aslan for the first time and Aslan begins the wonderful song of creation which brings about the dawn of the first day in Narnia..every plants and animals that heard Aslan song became alive and they can talk or communicated among themselves..it was warm, it was so awesome..and every animals shocked when they found out they can talk! and the first joke was made! ha! i think everyone have read this.. but if you not, then you should read this, and you will discover how Jadis thinks she can be the Queen of Narnia, how and old man and her wife from our world became the first king and queen of Narnia, how digory was tempted to steal the apple of life for himself..i can't even stop reading the adventure in the story..

What i think?

well, i realized something in the end, human always have good in them, no matter how bad they can be or had been..digory realized it himself after all.. it is so simple to be frank and open with people when we put it into kid's life, when it is actually always grown ups who make a lot of mistakes..this story give me more than a story..it makes me realizes things..how i always want to be a kid..other than that, it makes me want to be a better person; who did wrong, but always accepted the guilty in the end and try to make things better again..

My Review:

The Thief Lord is story of two brothers, recently orphaned, are runaways. Prosper, who is twelve years old, has brought five-year-old Bo to Venice from Hamburg to escape an aunt who wishes to adopt only the younger child. A small gang of homeless children living in an abandoned movie theater befriends them. Their benefactor is a mysterious masked youngster named Scipio who calls himself 'the thief lord'. His irregular visits provide them with clothing, shoes, and goods they can convert to cash for other necessities. Scipio brags of his thieving escapades and brings them precious objects they sell to a shady antique dealer. Even though Prosper is worried about their life of crime and his little brother’s growing admiration for Scipio, he is even more concerned about their Aunt Esther who believes they are in Venice and has hired a detective to find them.

I'm still reading it and i think the book is awesome. Can't wait to finish the book. I guess it is the beauty of being children. Lots of fun and very adventurous in every single way. Not just for young adults, i think Funke brings the story of a child inside all of us.

There is like another half to finish and i bet i can give her a credit.
